Is the association responsible for the entrance door and lock assembly to my unit?

The door handle and lock assembly for the entrance to my unit is broken. I asked the association to fix it. They seem to think it's not their responsibility. Who is responsible for it? This is a unit in a condo building.

1. Do you own the condo? If so, it is your problem. If it is a rental, and the damage was not caused by you, the owner or management should fix it.
2. If you own it then it's you. If it's part of the community property then it's their problem. Of course just because it's their problem doesn't mean they are going to fix it. It's like everything else in this world right now. People want to take your money, but don't want to deliver the goods.
3. It is probably your problem if you own the unit or your landlord's if you rent. In either case, it is not the condominium association's problem.
